About Us
Caeruleum Orthotechnologies is an early-stage, orthopedics focused life sciences company which aims to revolutionize the underserved joint repair and replacement market. Caeruleum’s first step to disrupting this market has already been completed – with our novel design of an artificial meniscus being issued a utility patent in October 2021. With our core team now established, a detailed technical and operational roadmap in place, and our legal structure finalized, we are bringing in outside capital for the first time to raise our seed round.
Our first product to market is the LunaFlex Meniscus, a hybrid composite implant designed to efficiently distribute load across the tibial plateau and promote greater knee health and function. Preliminary computational simulations show that our solution can match or exceed the strength and durability profile of a native human meniscus – a characteristic that other meniscal solutions or prosthetics cannot match nor exceed.
Our Mission
Caeruleum was founded upon the belief that current solutions for common soft-tissue sports injuries are inadequate. Common occurrences of reinjury, prolonged recovery time, and high failure rates are just the beginnings of an extensive list of issues with current meniscal tear solutions. Caeruleum aims to provide patients with a solution free of compromise, expeditiously returning them to an injury-free state and mitigating the need for future surgeries, extended physical therapy, pain management, or additional care.
